Halloween: a butterfly and her lepidopterist

I love Halloween! I start planning months in advance. A while ago I found this incredible sequin 60s silk shirt in the shape and pattern of a butterfly at Thrift Town for about $5. Luke and I rarely do couple costumes, mostly because he veto's all my great ideas. This year I finally pitched something that stuck.
We got him a vintage pith helmet and a khaki safari shirt and a butterfly net - viola, a lepidopterist, or someone who studies and collects butterflies and moths. Easy, thrifty, creative - if i do say so myself.

We hosted a party at our house, first Halloween in our very own house. I was hoping for trick or treaters so we set up in the driveway with lights, chairs and a table for drinks. I put the perishable food and things that needed plates inside. Lots of wonderful friends came and we sipped hot apple cider and made caramel apples. Great friends, great conversation... about 7 trick or treaters.

Happy Halloween!

Is Dan Logan Jayne Cobb?
If so, he's rocking it.
I'm so happy to see you've dusted out the virtual cobwebs from your blog. Head over to mine to read some stuff on my recent going ons.

I really wish I could've been there. I love you.
