Bonus Dress: Bridesmaid on a Budget

My dear friends Scott and Corrie are getting married! Corrie and I have been best-friends for a very long time now and I have the immense privilege of being in the wedding party.
Corrie gave each bridesmaid a color swatch, some brand name colors she liked and let us find out own dresses.
A couple weeks ago I stumbled upon a dress in Thift Town which matched my swatch perfectly! A Jessica McClintock for $7.99 and it fit.

Here's what it looked like when I got it home.

I'm holding up the color swatch to show how close it is

Ok, two problems:
1. Awkward length
2. Too much cleavage
So I took the dress to a tailor, wore a cami-bra and voila!

I did a little research, these dresses usually run upwards of $120.
After alterations and dry cleaning I spent a little over $60.
Had I done the alterations myself I could have saved $45, but I don't know how to sew.

The shoes were a gift from my mother-in-law for my birthday.

I'm glad people are saying it's a keeper - either way I have to keep it till December.

Yay, I'm so glad you love it, Corrie. You're opinion is really the most important for this dress.
