|Luke's proactive approach to marriage.|
How can we keep having the same simple discussion over and over again? Why does it bother him so much that I leave the sponge in the sink? Where do all the socks go?
The questions are really endless.
What makes a marriage work? That's a good one.
We did a lot of research before taking the plunge at the tender ages of 19 and 20; even then we didn't have anything figured out.
We looked a marriages we admired, and decided date night was important. We both took a sociology class at College of the Redwoods called Marriage and the Family and learned listening skills, which when we're fighting we both quickly forget.
I guess somewhere Luke heard that marriages die in a whisper, and this gets him worried whenever I don't have an opinion about something. Hence the above comic.
If you stumbled upon this blog in hopes to find the answers to a good marriage, I'm sorry. All I've got for you is:
- have a date night
- use active listening techniques
- and don't let your marriage die in a whisper
